Wann wurde Rahel geboren und welche Diagnosen hat sie?
Rahel wurde am 22.12.2020 mit einer Spina bifida, einer Chiari-Malformation Typ II und einem Hydrozephalus geboren. Sie wurde außerdem mit einem Shunt versorgt.

Wurde sie vor der Geburt behandelt?
Fünf Tage vor ihrer Geburt wurde sie noch pränatal operiert und ihr Rücken wurde in Mannheim von Professor Kohl verschlossen.

Wie sieht ihre tägliche Versorgung aus?
Rahel wird alle vier Stunden katheterisiert – außer nachts – und einmal täglich wird ihr Darm gespült.

Wie bewegt sie sich fort?
Sie ist eine aktive Läuferin und trägt Orthesen, da sie einen Spitz-Plattfuß hat.

Nimmt sie Medikamente?
Sie bekommt keinerlei Medikamente, da wir uns für einen natürlichen Behandlungsansatz entschieden haben. Seitdem ich aufgehört habe, ihr Medikamente zu geben, hat sie auch keine Infektionen mehr bekommen – das ist jetzt bereits 2,5 Jahre her.

Wie ist Rahel als Mensch und was bedeutet sie für Ihre Familie?
Rahel ist ein fröhliches, positives Kind und hat uns als Familie sehr zusammengeschweißt. Wir schätzen sie sehr und sind natürlich glücklich, sie bei uns zu haben.

Was macht ihr Spaß?
Sie fährt gerne Laufrad und ist unheimlich gern draußen in der Natur. Da wir ländlich wohnen, ist sie dieses Umfeld gewohnt und lernt es gar nicht anders kennen.

When was Rahel born and what conditions does she have?
Rahel was born on December 22, 2020, with spina bifida, a Chiari malformation type II, and hydrocephalus. She has also received a shunt.

Did she undergo any treatment before birth?
Five days before her birth, she underwent prenatal surgery and her back was closed in Mannheim by Professor Kohl.

What does her daily care look like?
Rahel is catheterized every four hours – except at night – and her bowels are flushed once a day.

How does she move around?
She is an active walker and wears orthoses, as she has a clubfoot-flatfoot combination.

Is she on any medication?
She does not receive any medication, as we decided on a natural treatment approach. Since I stopped giving her medication, she hasn’t had any infections – it’s now been 2.5 years.

What is Rahel like and how has she impacted your family?
Rahel is a cheerful, positive child and has brought our family very close together. We value her deeply and are, of course, happy to have her with us.

What does she enjoy doing?
She loves riding her balance bike and being outside in nature. Since we live in the countryside, she’s used to this environment and doesn’t know anything else.
